Charlotte Man Accidentally Shoots Himself After Robbing Convenience Store
A Charlotte, North Carolina man is probably kicking himself in prison right now over the way he got his self caught for a robbery. WCNC reports the man accidentally shot himself after robbing a University City convenience store early Tuesday.
Lavarius Mattess Patterson, 18, entered The Kangaroo Express just after 2 a.m. Police say Patterson robbed the store at gunpoint before running away, but not before his gun went off, hitting him in the leg.
A witness told police that a gunshot was heard in the direction the suspect ran and that he was spotted limping away from the area.Police noted that and popped the prick as he was entering the ER. SMH.
Patterson was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was taken into police custody when he was released from the hospital.
