Fran Drescher Marries Scientist Who Invented Email
Fran Drescher, star of TV Land’s Happily Divorced, is now happily married, a rep from Drescher’s office confirmed exclusively to PEOPLE Magazine.
Drescher married Dr. Shiva Ayyadurai at their home on the beach for an intimate group of very close friends and family.
She wore Badgley Mischka, he wore Ralph Lauren.
Ayyadurai, 50, who holds the patent for creating email, met Drescher, 56, a little over a year ago when he gave a talk at an event hosted by Deepak Chopra, according to an interview he did with the Huffington Post.
“Fran heard my talk and we fell in love, and we’ve been together since that talk,” he said. “Every day is a celebration with Fran. Every day is almost a romantic hangout with her. We’re always laughing, always enjoying ourselves.”
Drescher recently shared on Twitter a sweet photo of her and Ayyaduri kissing. The caption read, “Be happy b well. B loving.”
Drescher was previously married to Peter Marc Jacobson, her current producing partner, for 21 years. They divorced in 1999, and Jacobson later revealed to her that he is gay.
