Miss Black Texas Called A “Black B***” By Cop
A black beauty queen’s run-in with a racist Texas cop is making national headlines.
Carmen S. Ponder, Miss Black Texas U.S. ambassador 2016, was forced to spend a night in jail after an off-duty cop blasted her as a “black b***” for refusing to cower to him.
According to The Root whose been in contact with her attorney Lee Merritt, Ponder found herself driving behind a “dangerous driver” who was swerving in and out of lanes and accelerating suddenly with no provocation.
For her safety, Ponder signaled and maneuvered around the driver who was later identified as the 14-year-old daughter of Commerce, Texas, Police Chief Kerry Crews.
Later she encountered Crews at a local Walmart who confronted her and called her a “black b***” for driving past his daughter. Ponder ignored him and an irate Crews called for backup and arrested Ponder for “evading arrest.”
In a statement to The Root , Merritt’s demanding justice.
“Unfortunately, as an official representative of ‘Black Texas,’ Carmen’s story embodies the black experience with law enforcement,” Merritt said. “It is our responsibility to address this reality with sobriety and commitment. We demand justice in this case and will seek it from every possible angle.”
There was literally NO reason for this racist cop to arrest this woman. We’ll stay on top of this story in hopes that Ms. Ponder will get justice.
