Leslie Jones Hosting The BET Awards
Internet troll defeater/SNL funny lady Leslie Jones’ got a new gig. The comedienne is following in the footsteps of Chris Rock, Mo’Nique, Kevin Hart and Chris Tucker and hosting the 2017 BET Awards.
This will be Leslie’s first awards show hosting job and she’s already geeked about it.
“I am so excited to be hosting The BET Awards this year,” said Leslie in a statement. “BET was the first network and place where I was on TV – I am looking to turn this whole experience into a joyful homecoming.”
There’s also talk that Leslie will touch on politics during the show and come dressed as deplorable Donnie for a skit.
This year Beyoncé dominates this year’s nominations with a total of seven including ‘Best Female R&B/Pop Artist,’ ‘Best Collaboration’ with Kendrick Lamar for “Freedom,” ‘Video of the Year,’ and ‘Album of the Year’ for Lemonade.
Others nominated include Bruno Mars who follows with five nods and Solange who’s up for four.
The 2017 “BET Awards” will air LIVE on Sunday, June 25 at 8 pm ET from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, CA on BET.
