Robert Griffin III Filed For Divorce From Wife, Rebecca
Robert Griffin III has made official what we’ve known for weeks.
The injured Cleveland Browns quarterback has finally filed for divorce from his estranged wife, Rebecca, BOSSIP has learned, several weeks after splitting from her and debuting his new lover, college athlete Grete Šadeik. Griffin filed for divorce last week in Texas, and the footballer said in court records that his estranged wife has moved out of the $2.2 million mansion they bought almost six months ago. Griffin said in court papers that while he still lives at their former family home, Rebecca moved 50 miles away. It’s not clear who is caring for their little girl, Reese.
Griffin, 26, already called it quits from the mother of his toddler daughter earlier this summer and began stepping out with Šadeik, his newer, younger model – even getting her name tattooed on his arm. Šadeik meanwhile had been proudly flaunting their love on the ‘gram.
The NFL player married Rebecca, his college sweetheart, in 2013. They have a daughter, Reese – who is still a toddler – and their relationship appeared to be solid as recently as April, when records show they bought the $2.2 million house together in suburban Houston, Tx.
However, cracks began to show in their relationship when Griffin was caught with an alleged mistress.
Griffin, who signed a two year, $22 million contract with the Cleveland Browns, has seen his star wane in the last couple of years due to a series of injuries.
