Teresa Giudice may be replaced as the star of the “Real Housewives of New Jersey,” and Tiki Barber’s wife is a front-runner to take her spot, Confidenti@l has learned.
Originally Bravo planned to shelve the reality show until jailbird Giudice gets released in early 2016 after a 13-month sentence for fraud. But we’re told producers now are hustling to keep their options open and have been quietly preparing for a new season without her.
“They don’t know where it stands with Teresa doing the show or not doing the show or when she’s getting out,” said an insider. “So they’re prepping for either way. Anyway, they need to shake up the cast — last season’s cast was terrible.”
With several veteran cast members — including Jacqueline Laurita, Caroline Manzo and Kathy Wilke — having departed as full-time cast members, fans didn’t warm to a mixed bag of newcomers in the show’s sixth season.
Producers hope that Traci Lynn Johnson, wife of former Giant and ex-“Today” show correspondent Barber, can take Giudice’s place.
This should be interesting. No tellin’ what these catty broads are gonna say about Traci and her sweet black love.
