Did you know she was a swirler? We are sad to tell you that the artist responsible for one of our favorite old school jams has passed after a long battle with MS and breast cancer. R.I.P. Chrissy Amphlett of the Divinyls.

1980s pop star CHRISSY AMPHLETT lead singer of the DIVINYLS best known for “I Touch Myself” is dead at 53.
She died in New York City after a long battle from breast cancer her hubby former Divinyls drummer Charlie Drayton by her bedside.
She revealed in 2010 that she had breast cancer, and she had also battled multiple sclerosis.
Famous for Amphlett’s sultry schoolgirl outfit, torn fishnets and wild on-stage antics, the Divinyls had their first hits, Boys in Town and Only Lonely, after appearing in the 1982 film Monkey Grip.
Their biggest-selling single, I Touch Myself, in 1991, cracked the Top 10 in the US and Britain.
Because of her MS, Chrissy was unable to undergo chemo for her cancer.
After receiving the initial diagnosis Chrissy bravely said, “I’m a keep-on-going sort of girl.
“It’s sh*t and it’s unfair, but life is not fair – even rock stars get breast cancer. But there’ve been many girls before me who have dealt with it successfully.
“It’s easy to feel sorry for me but I feel sorry for people who are suffering it alone,” she said.
It sounds like she had the right attitude about it, but we’re sad that she wasn’t able to beat the disease.
Our prayers and condolences go out to her loved ones.
They need to make this the theme song for breast self exams.
